None of these cards are any good. The best of all of them is the 8400 and I consider that an entry card (not worth gaming).
The best card out there is the ATi 5970, but it is the behemoth of a card and expensive. It is the best however as it is running a dual gpu setup.
The best single gpu card is nVidia 480. This card is around the $500 mark.
Depending on your motherboard, you have to make sure that you have the correct connection for your card that you chose (AGP, PCIxE, etc.). Also the selection will depend on your budget. In either case, I would tell you to get either the ATi 5770 or higher or the nVidia 470 or higher. Both of these cards are the latest generation and should be good for a few years.
If you wish for cheaper, you can go for ATi 4850 or greater or nVidia 260 or greater. These are over one generation old (a few years out on the market) but they should be able to last a few years.
