Nvidia GeForce agp 5200 fx card in critical problem , help need?
i have a 2 yars old geforce fx 5200 agp 128mb card.its working fine but from yesterday its giving a critical error.when i was working with my pc then suddenly my screen with stripe of yellow lines.i chked ram the i replace with another agp card then its ok.when i insert old one then boot when pc in post then it give full screen whites lines with some ascii code then yellow lines comes up. what shold i do. how to fix this , this is my first card and favorite card.pls help
I have seen this type of error before and it has not a good prognosis. Your memory controller or memory on your video card are in the act of failing. There is no easy fix for this. The simplest and cheapest thing to do is to get a new or newer video card as that series of card is quite outdated. A quick look elsewhere shows AGP cards available in the $40 to $100 range online which will all outperfrom the old failing card with the added benefit of more RAM.
I have and use the second linked card, and although I paid more than double the indicated price, am very happy with it.
