The Right Way To Setup Your Digital Receiver
A digital receiver is attached to a home theater to get high frequency signals. This is mostly very easy if you buy a home theater system package as the instructions that go with it are really clear and match with the elements provided. Nonetheless if you are assembling your home theater, don't forget to buy the right equipment for the setup.
Before connecting the receiver to the home theater system, make sure that the receiver has enough connections for handling all of the components that'll be attached to it. The input connection of the receiver must match with the home theater system. This connection can be established in one of two ways by utilizing either a coaxial or an optical connection.
Use a cable to connect the DVD player to your receiver. The sound and video outputs of the DVD recorder of the digital receiver must be connected to the video and audio inputs of the DVD. A new video cable is used to create a direct video connection between the Television and the high-definition receiver. If both the DVD player and the receiver are HDMI ready, you need to use a single HDMI cable.
The receiver, home theater setup and DVD player must be placed close to one another. However , they must not be placed one on top of the other. This is because when everything is plugged in and working, these parts can get really hot. If you're short of space and you have got no other alternative but to stack the parts one on top of the other, use a thin sheet between every one of the elements to minimize the heat.
Connecting the speakers of the home theater set-up to the receiver is an easy task to accomplish. Just establish a direct one to one matching connection between the two components. As an example, the front left speaker must be attached to the front left of the receiver, the center of peaker must be hooked up to the center of the receiver and such like.
To attach the subwoofer of the home theater to the receiver, you need two accessories. These are a subwoofer cable and a Y adapter. Plug the right and left inputs behind the subwoofer in to the Y adapter. Connect the other end of the Y adapter to one end of the subwoofer cable. Now, take the free end of the subwoofer cable and connect it to the subwoofer preout of the receiver. If you don't have a subwoofer cable, you need to use an RCA cable which regularly comes as a pair. In this example, one of the wires will get left hanging.
