Computer experts PLEASE help me!?

I have a dell dimension 2400 and its not got a video card. The current video stuff is called standard vga video adapter.

I want vista on my computer (please dont tell me i should stay with xp because it sux)

Dell has no drivers to download for my video so everything is BIG and I cannot make it smaller.

MY QUESTION to you is.. is there ANY way I can download something that will make it to where I can adjust the size to make it smaller. A simple yes or no will work!

Your computer does have a graphics chipset of some kind whether it be integrated onto the motherboard or through either the vgp or pci express slott.

From what it sounds like you have an integrated vid card.
Vista requires a heck of a lot of good hardware.

Graphics being the major bulk of it. I think to really get any kind of use out of the operating system you will need to have a card of at least 128mb or more.

As far as drivers (downloads)go, I doubt it will help you because it may not meet the minimum requirements for vista.
So if you really want to have vista then you will need to purchase at least and I mean at LEAST a 128mb video card. 512mb would be better.
Your pc has an AGP slot (where it plugs into your computer).

This is the standard port for most cards so you should not have any problem finding one. They will set you back about 100 bucks or more pending on brand,speed, size, etc.

Also, I would consider upgrading your ram to at least 768mb of ram or more. A gig (1024mb) of ram would be best. They typically run about 100 bucks but you probably could find some deals on ebay.

So in this case if I were you I would stick with Xp unless you want to shell out some dough. Get more use with your current pc and when it finally conks out get a new one with vista installed.

XP is a great operating system and vista is just xp with eye candy and annoying security questions. I tried the beta on my pc and It was ok but I decided to stick with XP for a while due to you never purchase an operating system the first year it comes out due to bugs, patches, etc. XP meets all of my needs and then some.
